The First Transnational Meeting of the Project – Manisa, Türkiye
The first transnational meeting of the project was held in Manisa, Türkiye, from 11/02/2024 to 15/02/2024. During this preparatory/opening meeting, the 18-month activity program was detailed, and responsibilities were allocated among the partners. Discussions were held regarding material preparation, time planning, and financial management, and through brainstorming sessions with the four partner institutions, the details of the planned activities were finalized.
During the meeting, the host country, Manisa AFAD, gave a project presentation that included an institutional introduction to AFAD and provided information about the disaster profile of Manisa and Türkiye. As part of the material preparation activities, decisions were made regarding the educational and dissemination materials needed during the program, the activities in which they would be used, and how many would be produced. In this context, the project website, information brochures, keychains, badges, and brochures were designed, and the important moments of the meeting were recorded as “Process Media.”
As part of the project, 16 participants visited the Governor of Manisa, Mr. Enver ÜNLÜ, to inform him about the project. Additionally, the Turkish Women’s Union Manisa Branch and the 29 October Women’s Association were among the institutions visited, where the project was introduced. To give the partners a better understanding of the local culture, cultural trips were organized to the ancient city of Ephesus, Manisa Fairy Tale Park, and the Diaromic Mesir Museum.
Gift packages containing Manisa Mesir Paste, Turkish Delight, dried Manisa grapes, a traditional Turkish tea glass, and Turkish tea were presented to each partner country. At the end of the activity, all participants received a “Preparation/Opening Meeting – Material Preparation End of Activity Evaluation Report,” and they were asked to evaluate the activity day by day and detail the benefits they gained from this mobility activity.
